Mavis were an indie rock band from Sunderland from the turn of the millennium. Never as popular as The Futureheads, as lauded as Field Music, as cool as This Ain't Vegas or as good as The Golden Virgins, they were loved by a small but select group. But everyone in this group, really really loved them.
